Getting Paid to Take Surveys
This is one for all you opinionated folks out there! Get paid to speak your mind and make money online taking surveys. PrizeRebel and Swagbucks are my two favorites, but I’ll show you a few other legitimate websites you can use.
Paid surveys have been a tried and true way to make money online for a while now. The problem is there are a lot of “not so honest” websites out there that promise to pay you for your participation in taking surveys but only end up wasting your valuable time.
Here is a list of legitimate websites you can use to take surveys online and get paid without having to leave the couch. Paid surveys are a great way to make extra money each month from home without having to invest a lot of time. Signing up for more than one survey site is a good idea; it will allow you to make the most money, complete more surveys and meet your work from home earning earning goals quicker.
Swagbucks
I almost decided to omit Swagbucks from this list because of how popular it is. I figured everyone already knows about it and would be predictable to include. There may still be some out there unaware of how great Swagbucks is so with that in mind I decided to include it.
It has been around forever, and the fact that they give you free money just for signing up should speak to the legitimacy. You earn “Swagbucks” by participating in surveys, completing internet searches, and completing other various tasks. You can also link your card and earn Swagbucks when you shop at amazon Walmart and other retailers. They are constantly adding new and interesting ways to earn money, and it is one of my go-to websites when it comes to earning extra money online.
Is Swagbucks Legitimate?
Absolutely, it is a great way to make money online. Swagbucks has paid out over 355,000,000 to its users to date. They often offer free rewards as incentive for joining, so head over and claim your free Swagbucks just for signing up. Their refer a friend program gives you 10% of the lifetime earning for each person you send Swagbucks way. They are easily the most recognizable paid survey website out there and have expanded to offer users countless ways to earn money outside of just surveys.
PrizeRebel
PrizeRebel operates similarly to Swagbucks. They are more than just a paid survey website, and you can make extra money online through them by watching videos, answering polls, and taking surveys.
They pay directly to your PayPal account or you can exchange your point balance for gift cards, like a lot of gift cards. Prizerebel has a massive section filled with gift cards you can spend your points on.
Is PrizeRebel Legitimate?
Their platform works amazing on mobile devices, and they are 100% legitimate. With 9 million members and over 17 million paid out, you won’t have any issues when it comes time to cash out your balance

Survey Club
Survey Club has been offering paid surveys since 2005. They are a members only survey directory that unfortunately does not work directly with companies. This means they are not a market research company, but rather a middleman. There is earning potential here, but I would skip Survey Club unless you have tried the others and are looking for something new.
Is Survey Club Legitimate?
Yes they are, but they are not a a market research company as I stated before. They basically serve as a portal for you to manage your various survey accounts on in one convenient place. While it is legitimate, I am not a fan and therefore cannot recommend it.
Harris Poll Online
Harris Poll Online asks its users to divulge their opinions on topics ranging from sports and politics to health and lifestyle. You receive compensation in the form of “hit points” which can be traded for gift cards from their partnered brands (Amazon, Starbucks). Unfortunately at this time Harris Poll does not offer a PayPal or real cash out option like Swagbucks.com does and you are only able to redeem your points on gift cards. You entered in various sweep stake contests with every completed survey giving you the chance to win exciting prizes.
Is Harris Poll Online Legitimate?
Harris Poll Online is legitimate and not a scam. You will be compensated for all surveys you complete. Redeeming points is simple and headache free. However, the lack of a real money option when redeeming points is a disappointment, and it would be nice to see them add a PayPal option in the future.
Prolific
Prolific is not your traditional survey website but it works similarly so I have decided to include it on this list. You can check out our full review of Prolific here.
Prolific is more of an academic research tool with many of the surveys on this website leaning towards the behavioral and social sciences. Some traditional market research surveys can still be found, and it offers a wide variety of interesting content for its users to participate in.
Is Prolific Legitimate?
Yes, Prolific is legitimate and it is in fact run by The University of Oxford. Users are compensated in GBP (Great Britain Pound Sterling) and can easily cash out earning via PayPal. Swagbucks is still my favorite, but Prolific is a close second.
EarningStation
Receive rewards on Earning Station by completing surveys, watching a daily video, shop with partnered retailers, and referring friends. Expect rewards to show up in your account roughly 48 hours after a completed task. EarningStation has been offering paid surveys since 2011 so they are relatively new when compared to the other companies on this list.
Is EarningStation Legitimate?
EarningStation is a legitimate paid survey website. However, they do have a habit of changing their reward structure often so keep an eye out for that. When it comes time to cash out your rewards you have the option to redeem your points for pre-paid gift cards and PayPal payments. The option to have physical gift cards mailed to you is offered but expect to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Final Thoughts
Paid surveys are a great way to make some extra money from home. You won’t get rich by doing this and its not passive income you can earn while you sleep. However, just 30 minutes a day can earn you some nice scratch at the end of the month. Put it towards that vacation fund or something you have been saving up for. It is a great addition to any work from home revenue stream.
