Make Extra Money Online with Swagbucks and MyPoints

Swagbucks – Make Your Lunch Break a Lucrative One

Swagbucks has been around forever.  Seriously, I remember using this website back in 2009.  I had their search bar installed and it was a nice way to make a few extra bucks online each day.  I absolutely love the work vs reward factor for websites like this.  A lot of people might think you don’t make enough for it to be worth it, but I disagree.  I may not be able to retire off my Swagbucks balance, but I make some extra money online every month that I am able to put to good use.

How it Works

First, you need to head over to Swagbucks and create an account.  It’s completely free, and sometimes they offer free money for new users to sign upSign Up For a Free Swagbucks Account Here!  Once you’ve created your account its time to start earning some SwagBucks!

What are Swagbucks?

1 Swagbuck is worth roughly $0.01, and you can exchange your SwagBucks for gift cards or get paid directly to your PayPal account.  I normally use the PayPal option, but the best deal is 450 Swagbucks for a $5 Amazon gift card.

How Do I Earn Swagbucks?

  • Take Surveys
  • Play Games
  • Watch Videos
  • Use Their Search Bar and Get Paid to Browse the Internet
  •  Use Coupons
  • Shop at Featured Retailers (Essentially Cash Back in the Form of Swagbucks)
Make Money from Downloading Mobile Apps
Earn points by simple downloading and installing games

How Much Can I Make with Swagbucks?

Well, that entirely depends on how you use their platform.  Personally, I prefer to use Swagbucks in a manner that doesn’t make it feel like work.  I use it as a search engine, hop on during my lunch break to complete some daily tasks or play a quick game while waiting for my kids to get home from school.  I use it very casually so it never feels like effort, and at the end of the month, I have a nice balance built up to exchange for rewards.  It is the definition of easy money!

It won’t let you quit your full time job, and you may get discouraged if you treat it as work.  I don’t believe using it for hours each day would be an effective use of your time, and would detract from the value Swagbucks can offer.

I think the best use of Swagbucks is with casual visits when you have a few minutes to kill here and there.  Instead of browsing Facebook while you eat lunch try using Swagbucks to complete tasks and earn a bit of extra money.  Do this for a full month before you decide if it is worth your time or not.

Cons

Nothing is perfect, and Swagbucks is no exception.  I like approaching any way to make money online with a positive attitude, but let’s look at some of the not so great things.

  • The surveys can be hit or miss.  I often get screened out, and earn nothing for my time.  However, sometimes I can earn quite a bit by completing surveys.  It is inconsistent, but I would still recommend it if getting paid to take surveys is something you are interested in.
  •  Exchanging points only to see them running a sale on rewards a day later can leave you with a bad feeling.  Right now they are running a sale on Amazon gift cards less than a week after I cashed out my points.
  •  Be selective of the tasks you choose to complete.  Only watch videos for points if you plan on letting them run in the background.  It’s not worth your time to sit through a bunch of advertisements for a few measly points.

MyPoints – The Alternative to Swagbucks

MyPoints is a very similar website to Swagbucks so I won’t go into too much detail here.  These websites complement each other very nicely when used in tandem to make extra money online.  If you have already signed up for Swagbucks, why not sign up for a free MyPoints account as well?  Double down on the number of points you can earn by using both Swagbucks and MyPoints.

MyPoints is a nifty little website that rewards you for completing simple tasks.  How does earning points that you can exchange for rewards or cash by clicking on emails, playing games, taking a survey or watching videos sound?  It is the definition of easy money, and anyone can sign up.

You don’t need to spend any money in order to earn points, but you can shop for products with selected retailers and earn points for your purchases.  Find exclusive deals, and earn some easy cash.

I love websites like this.  I check every day when I have a few minutes, and at the end of the month I cash out my points.

Are Swagbucks and MyPoints Legitimate?

Both of these websites are 100% legitimate.  You will never have issues redeeming rewards, and if for some reason your account is not credited after completing a task simply contact them for an easy fix.  While they are both legitimate, it will be up to you to decide if Swagbucks is an effective use of your time.

Final Thoughts

If you treat these websites more as time killers than jobs I think you’ll find the experience more enjoyable.

These methods are not meant to replace your regular 9-5, rather they are great ways to easily earn some extra money online that you can put towards purchases or add to your PayPal balance.
